The 13th edition of the Responsible Mountain Operation

As you know, since 2007, Lafuma and its partners have been organizing Operation Responsible Mountain, a day of waste collection on the Mer de Glace and along the trails of Chamonix. This year, the event was to take on the air of a festival. But that was without taking into account the global health crisis. We had to adapt this event, but we were determined to make it happen in spite of everything, and to continue our action!

Friday, September 4th, about ten people (staff, ambassadors and partners) went to clean up the Mer de Glace. 15 kms and 9 hours later, a laborious work of collection allowed to gather several important heaps of waste. Skis, a snowboard, cans, cables, etc., were collected: the glacier still needs us! It will still take some more collections to fill a big bag of 900 kg and to have the whole heliported (for a more sober and optimized use of the helicopter). It is a long- term work, that we will continue with determination and solidarity.

Many thanks to Philippe, who initiated all this with passion, and to our partners: CMB, Chamonix City Hall, Mountain Riders, CAF, UCPA and Brasserie du Mont Blanc!
We share with you some pictures of this beautiful day and we are waiting for many of you on the next edition, on which we are going to work right now!
