It all began in Anneyron in 1930, when the Lafuma family bent the first steel tubes and stretched the first canvas. From backpacks to deck chairs, from the garden to the mountains, the approach remains the same: to create ingenious objects for all those who experience the outdoors. For nearly a century, these products, designed to last, have accompanied generations of families in France and around the world, carrying the promise of comfort.

The outdoors, a family affair

When Peugeot Frères Industrie took over, it was to support the company's future development while honoring a family promise: to design ingenious, durable, and repairable products. The Lafuma bag and furniture are a prime example, echoing the equally iconic saw, pepper mill, and Peugeot automobile, perpetuating a remarkable industrial history. The adventure continues, and today the Lafuma family is comprised of all the employees who keep the brand alive every day!

Born and Made in Anneyron

From its very beginnings, Lafuma has drawn its roots from the Drôme region. This is the land where the brand was born and developed, inspired by the Drôme hills, ideal for hiking and trail running, and by the local lifestyle, Côtes du Rhône wines, and gastronomy. After exertion, well-deserved reward!


Here, in its original workshop in the Drôme region, the brand has built a unique expertise around tubing and canvas. Even today, each product is designed and manufactured here with a focus on eco-design, a principle deeply ingrained in our DNA. Durability, repairability, and local commitment: these are the three promises that guide every decision we make.
