From backpacks to furniture... 70 years of innovation to accompany your outdoor adventures
1930
Lafuma developed a backpack with a metal frame, already combining structure and canvas to improve carrying comfort. This tubular frame and canvas design would become one of the brand's guiding principles.
1954
The adventure takes on a new form with the first collections of folding furniture. Lafuma furniture then becomes the perfect companion for holidays, gardens, campsites, and moments of relaxation outdoors.
1961
The Relax armchair became one of the emblematic products of Lafuma's culture of comfort — an icon that endures to this day.
1992
Invention of the umbrella folding system with the POP-UP chair.
2015
Launch of the Balcony dining range.
2020
Lafuma Mobilier obtains the Living Heritage Company (EPV) label, official recognition of its industrial know-how of excellence rooted in Anneyron.
2021
Awarded the LONGTIME® label, attesting to the durability and longevity of Lafuma Mobilier products.
2024
New chapter: Lafuma Mobilier joins Peugeot Frères Industrie, a French family group, to continue its development in France and internationally.

Lafuma is once again a unified brand following the acquisition of Lafuma Mobilier's other product lines. The head office returns to Anneyron.

Nearly a century ago, in Anneyron in the Drôme region of France, Lafuma designed a backpack with a metal frame, made of tubing and canvas, intended for those who wanted to conquer the great outdoors. A comfortable bag, adapted to the back, neither heavy nor flabby.
Over 70 years ago, also in Anneyron, this same logic of tubing and canvas opened up a new field of expression: folding furniture. Simple, ingenious and comfortable furniture, made for holidays, campsites, gardens, terraces and all those places where you want a change of scenery.
Nearly a century of history, but the same desire: to remain an authentic, ingenious brand committed to the well-being of all.
Today, the adventure continues from Anneyron, in the Drôme region of France, where we developed our expertise in outdoor furniture. It now extends to balconies, gardens, parks, trails, and forests worldwide. Now supported by Peugeot Frères Industrie, we pursue this work with today's tools: a design office, 3D printing, 3D bending, durability testing, technical materials, and a constant drive to innovate.

Even today, Lafuma designs, manufactures, and assembles all its furniture ranges in Anneyron, in the northern Drôme region. Their expertise lies particularly in working with metal tubing, stretched canvas, sewing, assembly, and fitting. This industrial mastery allows them to create practical, comfortable products designed to last.
